(All help notes are in italics)

CQ, CQ, CQ, (you may use QST instead if you like) calling the ASTEN, AR-LINK system net. This is (YOURCALL), my name is (YOURNAME). This is an ARRL Arkansas Section Net and is affiliated with the National Traffic System. This net operates each Tuesday evening at 8:00 PM on the AR-LINK SYSTEM. This net meets for the purpose of advancing amateur communications through training, Open Forum Discussions, Section business and of course the net is opened to all properly licensed amateur operators.

I want to take a moment and thank, all the repeater owners, individuals and clubs who make this net possible. (You may replace the above comment with your own words if you like)

Tonight there are several repeaters linked together, so please pause for at least two seconds after you key your microphone, before you begin to speak, so that all repeaters have time to link up. When you check in, it should be all just one single transmission. (You may explain the procedure the way you like)

At anytime during the net if there are any stations with emergency or priority traffic please use the pro-word EMERGENCY or PRIORITY and the net will standby for your immediate traffic.

The net will now stand by for any stations with Formal written traffic, traffic with a number only please. (Handle all traffic listed.)

Are there any stations with special announcements? (Handle announcements)

This is (YOURCALL) and the ASTEN AR LINK SYSTEM NET. (Make sure you ID your station every 10 minutes is the idea here)

I would now like to take check-ins from mobile or portable stations, call (YOURCALL).

I would now like to take check-ins from IRLP or ECHOLINK stations, call (YOURCALL).

I would now like to take check-ins from stations, “Location X”, call (YOURCALL).

“Location X” means, do as many rounds of check-inn’s as needed, “By Geographic’s” Always read back your list, and ask for corrections or stations you may have missed. Once you are satisfied that you have checked in all stations, then turn the program over to the person scheduled to do the program.

Program here ()””

Once the person doing the program turns it back to net control, then take more check inn’s and once you catch them up – ask for:

Any stations with comments about the program before we close the net, please call (YOURCALL).

I put a check mark by their name on my list and take them in the order they re-checked. If ARRL officials, section level are above have checked in, I usually call on them first for comments. If you don’t know them or didn’t recognize their call, then that’s ok, they will call on you if they have something they want to add.

Close the net.

Thank all net participants in your own words as you like, and invite them to return again. Then follow you comments with the following:

I will now at ______ Central Time, close the ASTEN AR-LINK SYSTEM net and turn the frequency back to normal use.  (YOURCALL).
